Award Description: This project: purchases and installs electronic destination signage for 20 buses; enhances a GPS/MDT project to be implemented this summer; equips all the fleet with electronic fareboxes with smart card capabilities; provides an automatic bus washer; provides security cameras for the current outdoor vehicle storage area; adds the capabilities of dealing with the flex service via the current computerized scheduling system; convert our traditional and very limited phone service to a professional and very customer friendly phone call center; provides security cameras in the money counting room; provides various pieces of shop equipment, including a brake lathe, transmission flush machine, waste oil burner, and diagnostic equipment for transit vehicles; provides power generators at the administratative offices and service provider offices; provides an agency vehicle to be used by administrative staff to monitor the routes and services, distribute marketing materials, attend meetings, etc.,and to be used by staff to check out the early morining condition of roads during severe weather (usually snow/ice) to determine if service should be run, delayed, etc.
