Award Description: The proposed work is for the re-design of the Lower Rio Grande Flood Control Project - Hidalgo Protective Levee - Phase I (previously designed under Task Order IBM05T0021), from approximately 0.8 miles south of the Lower Rio Grande Flood Control Project Common Levee to the Common Levee near the City of Hidalgo, Hidalgo County, Texas. The re-design includes a transition from the north end of the Department of Homeland Secuirty's floodwall in Segment O-6A to be incorporated with the existing design of the Hidalgo Protective Levee Phase I under Task Order IBM05TO021, starting at approximately Station 195+66 of the existing design and ending within a distance of 400 ft. The existing design from the north end of the transition to the intersection of the levee with the Common Levee will be maintained. All design requirements under Task Order IBM05T0021 remain the same. These requirements include the same top of levee elevations and levee rehabilitation criteria for the design flood protection with 3 feet of freeboard. The work is also for the revisions to the plans and specifications and opinion of probable cost. Compensation for the Re-Design of Rehabilitaion Improvements of the Lower Rio Grande Flood Control Project - Hidalgo Protective Levee - Phase I is lump sum quantity of 1.00 at a unit price of $33,158.00 for a total cost of $33,158.00.
Project Description: Work performed during this quarter included several site visits, several field surveys to confirm coordinates of the Segments O-6A and the Common Levee project limits and alignment, and verify as-built conditions, if applicable; design of a transition from the north end of the Department of Homeland Secuirty's floodwall in Segment O-6A and the recent improvements by the Department of Homeland Security on the Common Levee at the intersection of the Common Levee; preparation of plan and profile and other necessary construction drawings covering the transitions; revised technical specifications; revised opinion of probable construction cost; and, revised design report. Submittals included drafts and final of each of the aforementioned elements, including incorporating this construction package with the Hidalgo Protective Levee Phase II Re-design construction package under Task Order IBM09TO019.
