Award Description: The proposed work is for the re-design of the Lower Rio Grande Flood Control Project - Hidalgo Protective Levee - Phase II (previously designed under Task Order IBM07T0025), from the intersection of the Intake Channel adjacent to the Northbound Bridge of the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge to just west of the Southbound Bridge of the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge in the City of Hidalgo, Hidalgo County, Texas. The re-design includes a transition from the south end of the floodwall of Department of Homeland Security's Segment O-6A to the west end of the floodwall and a transition from the north end of the levee Department of Homeland Security's Segment O-6B/C to the east end of the floodwall, including a ramp down from the top of the Segment O-6B/C levee to the existing roadway on both sides of the levee. The work is also for the revisions to the plans and specifications and opinion of probable cost, to include only the floodwall in the existing design and the added transition designs, as required for the application of these designs into a construction contract. For the floodwall between the transitions, the design previously prepared will apply with only minor revisions to match the top elevations shown in the drawings mentioned above. All design requirements under Task Order IBM07T0025 remain the same. These requirements include the same levee/floodwall rehabilitation criteria for the design flood protection with 3 feet of freeboard. Compensation for the Re-Design of Rehabilitaion Improvements of the Lower Rio Grande Flood Control Project - Hidalgo Protective Levee - Phase II is lump sum quantity of 1.00 at a unit price of $53,075.00 for a total cost of $53,075.00.
Project Description: Work performed during this quarter included several site visits, several field surveys to confirm coordinates of the Segments O-6A & O-6B/C project limits and alignment, and verify as-built conditions, if applicable; design of a floodwall transition from the south end of the floodwall in Segment O-6A to the west end of the floodwall and a levee transition from the north end of the levee in Segment O-6B/C to the east end of the floodwall, including a ramp down from the top of the levee transition to the existing roadway on both sides of the intake channel intersection; preparation of plan and profile and other necessary construction drawings covering the transitions and revisions of the floodwall; revised technical specifications; revised opinion of probable construction cost; and, revised design report. Submittals included drafts and final of each of the aforementioned elements.
