Award Description: The Health Coverage Tax Credit (HCTC) Bridge Grant/Gap Filler provides for a supplemental payment(s) to trade-affected workers wishing to continue their health care coverage once employment is terminated. The number of supplemental payments will be based upon the application time period that is necessary for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Health Care Tax Credit (HCTC) program to process a trade-affected worker request for the monthly payment option. These supplemental payments are to ease the financial burden for the affected worker and their families by paying the 80% portion of the health coverage costs during the HCTC application period with the IRS-operated HCTC system.
