Award Description: The Energy Assurance Capabilities grant is intended to promote the development of plans to integrate new energy portfolios and new applications, such as Smart Grid technology, into energy assurance and emergency preparedness plans.

Project Description: The Energy Assurance Planning grant is meant to improve the effectiveness of the current DC Energy Emergency Plan. This will be accomplished with training, the hiring of new Emergency Liaison Officer(s), and the incorporation of new energy portfolios (i.e. solar photovoltaic, petrodiesel/biodiesel blends) and Smart Grid application.
