Project Description: EECBG Formula funds include 3 sub-grant programs created and managed by Commerce: Energy Efficiency Grants for Smaller Cities & Counties: $6.4M RFP released 9/1/2009. We received 79 applications on 9/30/2009. Requests totaled $11.6M. Award announcements anticipated in October or November 2009. Shared Resource Conservation Manager (RCM) Grant Program: $750K Sub recipient, Washington State University Extension Energy Program (WSU) will manage grant agreement. Open application period, October 1 to December 31, 2009. Awards anticipated early 2010. The program will help create a shared RCM position that will serve several local governments in a geographic area. Energy Efficiency through Transportation Planning (EETP): $770K RFP issued 9/24/2009. Informational Webinar 10/7/2009. Applications due to Commerce 10/26/2009. The purpose of the statewide EETP grant program is to assist cities and counties in creating and implementing long-term energy efficiency strategies in the transportation sector. The goals of the program are to: --Reduce fossil fuel emissions, vehicle miles traveled (VMT), and transportation-related energy consumption --Improve coordination of transportation and land use policies and programs to maximize the long-term impact of the program --Foster innovative approaches to regional and local land use and transportation planning with long-term energy, environmental, economic, and health benefits.
