Award Description: ARRA Supplemental funding for the Community Services Block Grant Program: Allocate funds to a network of eligible entities to support employment related services which create and sustain economic growth. Ninety-nine percent of the funds shall be distributed to eligible entities to provide services and activities addressing employment, education, housing, nutrition/food, emergency services and/or health. One percent of the funds shall be used for benefits enrollment coordination activities relating to the identification and enrollment of eligible individuals and families in Federal, State and Local benefit programs. Income eligibility for services funded under the Recovery Act shall be up to 200 percent of the federal poverty income guidelines.
Project Description: First Quarter Report: CSBG ARRA Activities were centered around development and implementation of programs to support employment related services, food, housing, medical assistance as well as to support education, income management and emergency services. Note Regarding 'Total Sub Award Funds Disbursed': Although this report shows $18,616.59 funds disbursed, the State is utilizing dollars from the State's 'General Fund' to provide an 'Initial Payment/IP' to each of the 30 sub-recipients and will reimburse sub-recipient expenditures out of the 'General Fund' until Federal Funds are drawn down to cover sub-recipient expenditures. Ten sub-recipients have received IPs totaling $285,676. The remaining 20 sub-recipients will receive IPs by 10/05/09 totaling $1,537,930.
