Award Description: Wisconsin's State Energy Plan consists of three parts: (1) job creation through clean energy technology, (2) job creation and retention through revitalizing clean energy technology supply chain development, and (3) job creation and retention by helping existing industrial users reduce their use of fossil fuels. Wisconsin will also create a Clean Energy Wisconsin Revolving Loan Fund to which repayments of loan portions of awards will be deposited; the precursor to a state clean energy development authority.
Project Description: Programs that conserve existing energy resources, ensure efficient use of available energy and develop new energy sources while protecting the quality of the environment. (1) Preliminary funding commitments totaling $1.5 million have been made to two businesses pending DOE NEPA review. (2) Twelve projects representing energy investment of over $150 million are undergoing in-house underwriting. (3) Thirty additional projects representing energy investments of at least $400 million are in the process of completing program application materials. OEI is working with US DOE to resolve issues surrounding NEPA.
