Award Description: To date no funds from the program have been expended. Payroll of City of Elkhart sidewalk crews will be paid starting with pay period of 9/21/2009. Bids for purchase of trees and for tree removal services are out as of 10/01/2009. Awards will be issued on 10/13/2009. information will be provided in the next quarterly report.
Project Description: to date because funds have not yet been spent, the project is not very far along. We expect two contracts to be let in October and the sidewalk crew to work until the snow fall (about mid-november). They will begin again in April of 2010 and work through until next fall. most of the tree removal will take place in the fall and winter of 2009-2010. tree planting will take place in Fall 2009 and Spring 2010
Jobs Summary: three new City of Elkhart sidewalk crew members were hired to undertake this project. 7 existing crew memebers would have been laid-off so they were brought on to this project. This allow two 5 member crews to lay the sidewalk. these workers did not start before the end of the reporting period for the jobs will be reported in the next quarterly report. (Total jobs reported: 0)
