Award Description: Invest in public transportation by purchasing replacement fixed route vehicles, paratransit vehicles and trolleys, performing preventative maintenance on video survelliance systems, new and existing, installing new and replacement vehicle video survelliance systems, purchasing new passenger shelters, replacing a maintenance support vehicle and purchasing new and replacement bus stop signs and an electronic message board in the transfer station.
Project Description: This grant has allowed the transit agency to issue a purchase order for three replacement paratransit vehicles and release an IFB for three fixed route vehicles due to be open on October 15, 2009. The transit agency is currently writing specifications for vehicle video survelliance systems for existing vehicles that do not have them in place and for some replacement systems that are obsolete.
