Award Description: To support the preservation of jobs that are threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn.
Project Description: Award program developed. Applications received and processed. Panel reviewed and recommended subgrants for salary support; board approved panel recommendations. Subrecipients were notified of awards and submitted 1st quarterly reports and requests for reimbursement.
Jobs Summary: Federal funding had not been requested as of 9/30/09; however, during the quarter 6 Artistic, 11 Administrative, 6 Educational and 3 Technical ARRA funded positions were supported at 15 different arts organizations. ARRA funds requested in early October will be used to reimburse approximately 48% of the total compensation and benefits for these 26 positions, whose combined work hours equaled an FTE of 7.50.
