Award Description: ARRA Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), and Quality Improvement Funding consistant with the provisions of Section 640(a)(5) of the Head Start Act.
Project Description: Project Description *Increase the compensation and benefits of staff through a cost of living adjustment to improve the overall quality of the program. *Provide professional development to teaching staff to improve staff qualifications. *Hired .5 FTE of a Disability Coordinator. *Hired a certified teacher in place of a classified CDA teacher to meet federal requirments. *Purchase classroom supplies, sensory items, communication devises, emotional activity kits and classroom furniture to improve the quality of materials and furnishings. Quarterly Activities *All staff received a cost of living adjustment effective August 1, 2009. *3 teachers have enrolled in college courses to enrich their qualifications. *Disability Coordinator hired. *Certified Teacher hired. *Nine classrooms have received 63% of budgeted supplies and furniture.
