Award Description: Highway Infrastructure Investment Grant: Mandatory Transportation Enhancements
Project Description: This project is a transportation enhancement in Clinch County. The historic Homerville Railroad Depot, also known as Station 11, will be restored to its original architectural style to the extent possible. Construction inlcudes roof and other facility repairs. Vinyl siding that has been installed on the west end of the Depot will be removed and the area will remain open-air. Modern HVAC units will be installed to allow for year-round use. New restrooms will be constructed that meet ADA guidelines. A serving kitchen will be provided so that food can be made available at the various activities. Kitchen facilities will not be designed for commercial food service. Tables and chairs will be placed in the open-air dock area.
