Award Description: Highway Infrastructure Investment Grant: Mandatory Transportation Enhancements

Project Description: This project is a transportation enhancement in Clinch County. The historic Homerville Railroad Depot, also known as Station 11, will be restored to its original architectural style to the extent possible. Construction inlcudes roof and other facility repairs. Vinyl siding that has been installed on the west end of the Depot will be removed and the area will remain open-air. Modern HVAC units will be installed to allow for year-round use. New restrooms will be constructed that meet ADA guidelines. A serving kitchen will be provided so that food can be made available at the various activities. Kitchen facilities will not be designed for commercial food service. Tables and chairs will be placed in the open-air dock area.

Jobs Summary: This project created/retained skilled jobs in the heavy construction field. The number of FTE jobs reflects those employees working directly on the project, and does not reflect the additional impacts this construction work has on the indirect jobs in the supply chain for heavy construction materials. (Total jobs reported: 0)
