Award Description: This is a proposal to develop a high throughput assay system to detect inhibitors of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) covalently closed circular DNA(cccDNA) formation and/or maintenance.

Project Description: Effort in this program thus far centers around three main projects: 1) Optimization of primary screening assays for Hepatitis B cccDNA inhibitors, using already established cell lines. 2) Continued screeing of in-house compound library using assay described in original proposal 3) Development of new assay techniques to screen for cccDNA inhibitors.
