Award Description: Enhance the scientific tempo of experiments proposed in K-08 by use of sophisticated state of the art technology including analysis of body composition using qMR and use of expression chip to analyze hundreds of coordinated changes in adipose tissue and muscle in response to central IGF-1. We want to emphasize that these changes are NOT new projects and are within the scope of the already funded K-08.
Project Description: Dr.Nemkal has begun work in the lab and been oriented to the project (09/15/2009-09/30/2009). In the upcoming period we plan to begin expression studies in the liver as proposed.
