Award Description: The COPS Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP) provides funding directly to law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire career law enforcement officers in an effort to create and preserve jobs, and to increase their community policing capacity and crime prevention efforts.
Project Description: In the process of hiring a community police officer that will work with in the school setting building a strong community partnership. This will create a community policing program for Swanton Village Police Department

The officer will work with the local schools and community in an effort to increase community policing through prevention and enforcement. The officer will expand on Swanton Village Police Department?s community policing buy establishing crime prevention and drug education programs for both schools and the community.
