Award Description: Port Security Grant Program funds, which will be used to enhance the Nation's port and maritime infrastructure to prevent, protect, respond to, and recover from threats or acts of terrorism. These funds are intended to create a sustainable, risk-based effort for the protection of critical port infrastructure from terrorism, especially explosives and non-conventional threats that would cause major disruption to commerce and significant loss of life.
Project Description: This project will fund installation of perimeter and waterside lighting improvements to the marine terminals area of the Port of Everett's marine terminals. This improvement incorporates both manual and wireless controls, and installs a central command workstation, which will allow port security personnel to remotely control the marine terminal lighting from a central location. This project invests in the port infrastructure necessary to promote safe, 24/7 operations, increasing the ability of the marine terminals to handle more ships and cargo.
