Award Description: Assist States, State and local courts, and units of local government to develop and strengthen effective law enforcement and prosecution strategies to combat violent crimes against women and develop and strengthen victim services in cases involving crimes against women. The Program encourages the development and implementation of effective, victim-centered law enforcement, prosecution, and court strategies to address violent crimes against women and the development and enhancement of victim services in cases involving violent crimes against women. The program encourages the hiring and retaining of criminal justice and victim services personnel who respond to violent crimes agains women, as well as supporting other strategies that create and preserve jobs and promote economic growth while improving responses to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.
Project Description: Assist subgrant organizations in Arkansas to develop and strengthen effective law enforcement and prosecution strategies to combat violent crimes against women and develop and strengthen victim services in cases involving crimes against women. Funding allocation is consistent with federal requirements: 25% - Prosecution; 25% - Law Enforcement; 30% - Victim Services; 5% - Courts and 15% - Discretionary. The program encourages the hiring and retaining of criminal justice and victim services personnel who respond to violent crimes agains women, as well as supporting other strategies that create and preserve jobs and promote economic growth while improving responses to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.
