Award Description: EPA provided IHS $1,343,330 of Clean Water Act Indian Set Aside funds through Interagency Agreement DW-75-95765901-0 for this project. Project scope: Install a new package waste water treatment plant that will replace and expand the treatment capacity of the existing facility. The new plant will consist of an extended aeration, activated sludge treatment plant capable of treating 100,000 gpd.

Infrastructure Description: The existing TIS wastewater treatment plant is failing to meet effluent discharge requirements for fecal coliform, BOD and TSS. The plant has deteriorated beyond repair and will exceed maximum flow capacity with the addition of homes under a planned collection system expansion. This project will create jobs during construction, provides an investment in environmental protection, and creates long term economic benefits through improved infrastructure.
