Ultimately these funds will provide long-term economic benefits to the state’s job force and the traveling public.
Jobs Summary: Surface Transportation Construction Industry Workers, ranging from engineers to general labor. This number was calculated as total hours worked in jobs created / retained divided by the number of hours in a full-time schedule, as defined by the prime recipient. The formula for reporting is represented as: cumulative recovery act funded hours worked since February 17, 2009 divided by the cumulative work hours since February 17, 2009 (i.e., 1298 for a full-time traditional state job through Sept 30, 2009) equals the number of FTE (Full Time Equivalent jobs). Does not include indirect jobs (e.g., those created from material suppliers) or induced jobs (e.g., those created on the local community as secondary economic result). Only jobs directly created / retained as a result of the expenditure of ARRA funding. This estimate includes any new positions created and any existing filled positions that were retained to support or carry out Recovery Act projects or activities managed directly by the recipient, sub-recipients, and first level vendors. The number is expressed as ''''full-time equivalent'''' (FTE), calculated cumulatively as all hours worked divided by the total number of hours in a full-time schedule, as defined by the recipient. Through Sept 30, 2009, the total number of hours for a traditional forty (40) hour workweek is 1298. Therefore, to calculate the FTE, divide the total number of hours worked from jobs retained/created since February 17, 2009 funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds by 1298 for a cumulative FTE count beginning February 17, 2009 through Sept 30, 2009. (Total jobs reported: 12)
