Award Description: This funding opportunity is for State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) grants to be funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA or Recovery Act), Public Law 111-5. This ARRA funding opportunity is in addition to, not in lieu of, the competitive 2009 funding opportunity (HRSA-09-205) which was issued in February 2009.The SLRP is a Federal-State partnership to assist States in addressing the health professional shortages that cause disparities in access to health care. The funding will be an incentive for primary care clinicians and dentists to provide services to the underserved areas of the State. Program funds are used to repay qualifying educational loans in return for primary care service provision in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs).
