Award Description: Invest in public transportation by purchasing new hybrid-electric buses, light-duty transit vehicles, and a new software upgrade for trip planning for our complimentary paratransit service and an upgrade for the audio/video locator.
Project Description: This grant allowed Fort Wayne PTC to purchase four (4) heavy-duty 35-foot hybrid-electric buses and four (4) light-duty transit buses and software upgrades for complimentary paratransit trip planning and audio/video locator. As a result of of these investments, Fort Wayne PTC will be able to offer public transportation service that is safer, more reliable and more environmentally friendly.
Infrastructure Description: Fort Wayne PTC used this grant to purchase three (3) heavy-duty 35-foot hybrid-electric buses and three (3) 30-foot light-duty transit vehicles and software upgrades for complimentary paratransit trip planning and audio/video locator. The projects funded under this grant will invest in transportation, environmental protection and other infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits. These investments will also contribute to preserving and maintaining jobs and promoting economic recovery in the vehicle manufacturing industry.
