Award Description: 2009-10 ARRA COLA and Quaility Improvement funding to exhisting Head Start program. 1.85% COLA for twelve consecutive months beginning 7/1/2009 to exhisting staff including fring and retirement benefits. Remaining funds will go to increased rent and utilities fees due to inflation. Quality Improvement funds go to support exhisting staff to improve their qualifications with the goal of Bachelor Degrees as required by the Head Start Act (Public Law 110-134); retension incentives stipends based on educational goals (fringe and retirement benefits); balance to addressing facility issues as related to health and safety.

Project Description: Head Start child development services to eligible preschool childre and their families in the four northern counties of Plumas, Lassen, Modoc and Sierra in the State of California

Infrastructure Description: To preserve and promote economic recovery by offering ARRA COLA to employees at lowest levels of wage base for our region.
