Award Description: The Student/Resident Experiences and Rotations in Community Health (SEARCH) program, through statewide partnerships between Primary Care Associations (PCAs), Primary Care Offices (PCOs), Offices of Rural Health (ORHs), professional associations, and academic institutions, provides opportunities for health professions students to implement their classroom experiences as part of multidisciplinary primary health care teams in underserved communities. The Michigan Primary Care Office, located within the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH), will lead an effort in cooperation with the Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA), the Michigan Center for Rural Health (MCRH), and the Michigan Health Council (MHC) to develop and implement a Michigan SEARCH (M-SEARCH) program to provide community-oriented experiences to health professions students in Michigan.
