Award Description: ARRA - Increased Demand for Services funding
Project Description: This funding is to support increased primary care staff to address the increased demand for primary care services by un- and under-insured residents of western Washington, engendered by the recent increase in unemployment in the service area. In the second quarter of this project period, July 1 - Sept 30, 2009, Sea Mar employed 4 medical providers and contracted with 1 locum tenens medical provider, and also employed appropriate clinical support staff for these providers, to provide primary medical care services to low-income residents of 5 communities in western Washington.
Jobs Summary: All jobs are 1.00 full-time-equivalents. All jobs except 1 advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) are filled by permanent employees. The 1 non-employee ARNP is a locum tenens provider working for a locum agency contracted by Sea Mar.
