Award Description: 1. The Contractor shall supply all labor, materials, parts, oversight, and equipment to perform Periodic Inspections of the following dams: Ball Mountain Lake Dam, Black Rock Lake Dam, Colebrook Lake Dam, Franklin Falls Dam, Hop Brook Dam, North Hartland Dam, and Union Village Dam. The Contractor will prepare a Periodic Inspection Report for each dam following the format of the 2008 Periodic Inspection Report for Edward McDowell Lake Dam. Each Periodic Inspection Report (except the report for Ball Mountain Dam) will contain an Instrumentation Appendix. 2. The Contractor will provide evaluations and prepare a report to address the following items: a. Re-evaluation of dam embankment design, using current USACE criteria. b. Evaluation of foundation and embankment materials and construction methods. c. Evaluation of observed past performance of the dam. The Contractor will scan all available records including as-built drawings, construction photographs, and construction field notes, as available from the project and the USACE’s Concord office. 3. The Contractor will prepare the Periodic Assessment Report for Ball Mountain Dam. The Contractor will compile the provided materials and prepare the Executive Summary and Conclusions and Recommendations sections of the report.
Project Description: Contractor and sub-contractor inspected seven dams in New England. Inspections included visits to each dam site, inspection of project features and testing of electrical equipment. Contractor is preparing summary inspection reports documenting the findings of the inspections and testing, and providing recommendations for budgetary and maintenance items to be performed at the sites. Contractor performed an evaluation of instrumentation records for the past five years and prepared an Instrumentation Appendix to be included in summary inspection reports.
