Award Description: To support the preservation of jobs that are threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn.
Project Description: NEA recovery funds have been able to shore up the continuation of a job that was in jeopardy ? a full time marketing director. A portion of these funds have been allocated to maintaining this as a full time position. Without these recovery funds, we would have been forced to downsize this position. And since we are trying to move ahead with earned revenue, it is an important role in the company. At present, we are ahead in our subscription campaign for next season, our 25th anniversary. If we had had to downsize this job, we may not have been in this position. Additionally the recovery funds have made it possible to cover the Educational Outreach Coordinator position as well. In fact, we have made more progress already this fall in our school program than we have ever done before. This position coordinates all the schools, teachers and artists, working around various school schedules, start and end times, testing dates, lunch and recess breaks, and other special needs. International City Theatre has a reputation for fiscal responsibility and we have always been lean and mean. However, we were at a point of being stretched too far. These recovery funds are making life manageable, and we all are working to ensure an appropriate 25th anniversary celebration in 2010. This should be the kick off to our next 25 years!
Jobs Summary: 1 full-time Marketing Director (Administrative). 1 part-time Education Outreach Coordinator (Educational). (Total jobs reported: 2)
