Award Description: Capital Fund Formula Stimulus Grant The purpose of the grant is for the rehabilitation of public housing neighorhoods and job creation within the local community.
Project Description: The grant is being used to fund rehabilitation projects in four public housing neighborhoods and the demolition of one distressed public housing community (which will be redeveloped as a mixed finance community.) During the quarter ending 09/30/2009, a contract was awarded to Gibraltar Construction Co. Inc., of Annapolis, MD, for renovations in Pickens Patterson Terrace (GA002000003). The project will include HVAC installation, new cabinets, countertops, sinks, windows/ security screens, bathroom exhaust fans, roof replacement and new dryer hookups. Work is expected to begin in the next two weeks.
