Award Description: Invest in public tranportation with the construction of a portion of approximately 21-miles of Light Rail expansion on DART's Green line and the construction of a operating facility. Activities funded by this grant will include the purchase of rail materials, construction of double track guideway, rough grading, excavation, relocation and reconstruction of railroad guideway and track, and labor.
Project Description: This funding has allowed the transit agency to purchase track and track materials and construct approximately 11.8 miles of double tracking with welded rail, direct fixation, ties and special trackwork to accommodate expansion of rail build-out.

Dallas Area Rapid Transits Recovery Act grant was used to purchase rail and rail materials and for the construction of approximately 11.8 miles of double tracked rail for Light Rail Transit expansion.
