Award Description: State Energy Program purpose is to promote the adoption of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in the marketplace. As such, we have focused our program on multiple sectors. Those sectors include: Building Code training and compliance; Building Operator Training; Clean Cities program support; large commercial and industrial energy efficiency opportunities; smal business energy efficiency opportunities, residential audits and efficiency opportunities; State building energy improvements, and incentives to promote the following kinds of installations on commercial and residential facilities: solar thermal systems, solar photovoltaic systems, geothermal heat pump systems; and fuel cell installations (commercial only). Piggybacking with existing program efforts in the state was a priority. Deliverables will include energy savings and greenhouse gas reductions. Progress will be measured on numbers of units completed, square footage of units completed, energy savings, and greehouse gas reductions.
Project Description: Placed fourteen grants or contracts in-place to implement the following programs: Geothermal Heat Pump Incentive Program; Solar Thermal Incentive Program, Fuel Cell Incentive Program, Solar Photovoltaic Incentive Program; Commecial/Industrial Energy Efficiency Program; Home Energy Audit and Efficiency Opportunities; State Building Energy Improvement program; Clean Cities Support; and the Building Operator Training program. These programs combined commits 76% of the total dollars allocated to the Connecticut State Energy Program.
