Award Description: Invest in public transportation by purchasing four, heavy duty, hybrid-electric transit buses.
Project Description: This grant will allow Intercity Transit to purchase four low-floor hybrid electric buses. As a result of this purchase, Intercity Transit has been able to award a contract to Gillig LLC for bus production for vehicles which offer the public transportation service that is safer, more reliable, more environmentally friendly and easily accessible by people with disabilities. Production schedule calls for work to start in Q3, FY2010 and vehicles to be completed and delivered in July 2010.
