Award Description: The Sweetwater Housing Authority is utilizing ARRA CFP funds to conduct modernization activities at Public Housing Developments TN016-004 and TN016-006. Activities include bathroom renovations, cable/phone jack installation and security system at Development TN016-004 and termite treatment at Development TN016-005. This funding can be expected to result in providing employment for architects and engineers, construction workers and product manufacturers. In addition this funding can be expected to substantially modernize public housing units in the jurisdictions of Sweetwater and Tellico Plains.
Project Description: As of September 30, 2009, the Sweetwater Housing Authority's ARRA CFP Project has been designed, bid and a construction contract awarded in the ARRA funding amount of $245,630. This ARRA Project is approximately 40% complete and includes the general renovation of two public housing communities encompassing 82 units. Activities include bathroom renovations, cable/phone jack installation and security system at Development TN016-004 and termite treatment at Development TN016-005.
Jobs Summary: To date this project has created jobs for Architects, Engineers and Construction Contractors. No new or retained jobs have been created for Architects and Engineers. A total of six construction workers of various trades have been employed on this work during the quarter. Two of these construction workers are new hires as a result of this project.
