Award Description: Funding and activities focused on preventing and alliviating homelessness. Services are provided in the form of direct financial assistance and case management/counseling.
Project Description: Three projects are funded with HPRP funding. Knoxville-Knox County CAC is implementing two projects and Legal Aid of East Tennessee is implementing one project. The CAC Homelessness Prevention Case Management project provides case management to individuals residing in public housing who are under threat of eviction and facing homelessness with the goal of homelessness prevention. The CAC Homeward Bound Project provides access to housing in the form of direct financial assistance to those needing security deposits, rent, utility deposits, etc, in order to prevent/alleviate homelessness. The Legal Aid project assists low-income residents facing eviction through legal representation in court.
