Award Description: The installation high-efficiency HVAC's at 75 multi-family units located in Richland Housing, Yuba City, CA & new dual pane glaazed windows, the installation of whole house fans, new tankless water heaters, weather stripping and new appliances at a 24 unit senior complex located on Joann Way, Yuba City, CA.
Project Description: The purpose of the award is to install HVAC to 75 multi-family conventional HUD Public Housing units that do not have air conditioning and furnaces that date back to 1962. This will result in appropriate heating, cooling and ventilation of the units. Currently, families use water coolers and window air conditioners that are not energy efficient and furnaces that are so old, they do not have an energy efficiency rating. Additionally, at a scattered site with 24 units of senior Public Housing, the installation of dual pane glazed windows, whole house fans, weather stripping, tankless water heaters and new appliances will significantly reduce energy and water use at this development.
