Award Description: The City of Hot Springs strategy focuses on a multiple activity approach in an effort to effect maximum benefits for our citizens. Our strategy actions fall under the following EECBG eligible activities: 1) Development and Implementation of Transportation Programs, 2) Building Codes and Inspections, 3) Energy Efficiency Retrofits. The City of Hot Springs EECS long term objectives shall be: 1) Reduction of energy usage, 2) Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, 3) Cost saving practices while still accomplishing the City's mission. Hot Springs EECS goals are to 1) To implement energy efficient technologies on City buildings and infrastructure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from city operations by 10% from 2008 levels as soon as practicable but not later than 2025; 2) Implement Transportation system improvements to reduce community greenhouse gas emissions by 15% as soon as practicable but not later than 2020; 3) Incorporate green building practices to reduce residential and commercial builders energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions by 10% not later than 2025. Our multiple projects include; Traffic Signal Coordination, Tree Canopy Initiative, Energy Code Training, Master Trails Implementation Plan, and HVAC Efficiency Retrofits.

Project Description: Hot Springs EECS goals are to 1) To implement energy efficient technologies on City buildings and infrastructure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from city operations by 10% from 2008 levels as soon as practicable but not later than 2025; 2) Implement Transportation system improvements to reduce community greenhouse gas emissions by 15% as soon as practicable but not later than 2020; 3) Incorporate green building practices to reduce residential and commercial builders energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions by 10% not later than 2025.

Jobs Summary: The jobs created/retained have a more immediate impact than the net number of jobs detailed within this report. Engineers and technicians will be retained for traffic counts and traffic server tasks. Professional trades people will be employed in our HVAC upgrades. Laborers will be used in several aspects of our projects, to include installing signs and maintaining tree stock. (Total jobs reported: 2)
