Award Description: Community Development. Public Facilities and Improvements - Infrastructure Only. Improvements to be undertaken include, but may not be limited to, stormwater improvements, storm sewer improvements, sanitary sewer improvements, street resurfacing, streetlights, sidewalks, and administration. 100% of funds will be area wide benefit for low to moderate income areas. Approximately 7,700 low to moderate income persons will benefit from these investments.
Project Description: The County received requests for 16 projects totalling $4,462,810.29. Staff reviewed and scored each project, and made recommendations. Five (5) projects have been approved by the County Board, Sub Recipient Agreements reviewed and executed by Sub-Recipients. (Note: Lombard and Woodridge will be on the October 13, 2009 County Board Agenda), and Environmental Reviews completed. Staff is reviewing project specifications in preparation for bid advertisement.
Jobs Summary: Approximately 22 FTE construction jobs are expected to be retained. These jobs include, but are not limited to, laborers, truck drivers, electricians. (Total jobs reported: 22)
