Award Description: Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program Special Allocations: This award is replacing windows, external patio doors, and supporting day-to-day operations of the facility.
Project Description: The ARRA funds are for improving the dwellings by replacing windows, and patio doors. The weatherization work has started and many dwellings have been upgraded. Not only is this work showing energy savings, but residents have stated that air quality in their homes has improved.
Jobs Summary: The following types of jobs were created and retained: maintenance, office worker, security. To prepare this estimate, a Job Impact Assessment team gathered information on job impact within the organization and from groups that received ARRA funds both directly and indirectly within the supply chain. The potential job creator list was established by brainstorming based on the question: Who might have used the funds we gave them to create or retain jobs? The team gathered information on the normal length of a work week, dates of employment for new hires, and notes on jobs that were saved with ARRA funds. Jobs creation outside the United States was not considered. The FTE was then determined. The team did NOT use a formula to compute the job impact. It did reference the document titled 'Estimates of Job Creation from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 published the President’s Council of Economic Advisors as a sanity check. (Total jobs reported: 3)
