Award Description: Homeless Prevention funds to allow for short-term financial assistance to prevent those at risk from becoming homeless. Short term assistance will also be provided to assist those that are currently homeless to move into permanent housing.
Project Description: The Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program will provide short-term financial assistance and Case Management services to assist those that are at risk of becoming homeles as well as those that are currently homeless. Hudson County has selected three subrecipients to administer this program according to HUD regulations. Two of these subrecipients, the United Way of Hudson County and Jersey City Episcopal Community Development Corporation, will be serving the general public with HPRP assistance. The Hudson County Department of Family Services, in partnership with the Hudson County Department of Corrections will use HPRP funds to add functionality to a current prisoner re-entry program.
