Award Description: The Albany Community Development Agency plans on using HPRP allocation to activities related to the prevention of homelessness.
Project Description: HPRP funds will be used to support homelessness prevention activities, including: short and medium-term rental assistance (including arrears); utility assistance (including arrears); case management; housing location and landlord negotiations; legal assistance to prevent eviction; outreach, engagement and assessment; unit inspections (as needed); and data collection and evaluation. These activities will be carried out by a coalition of Albany providers, including the Homeless and Travelers Aid Society, United Tenants of Albany, the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, the Albany Housing Coalition, Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless and CARES, Inc.
