Award Description: EPA provided IHS $293,750 of Clean Water Act Indian Set Aside funds through Interagency Agreement DW-75-95765901-0 for this project. Project scope: Install indoor plumbing, new water services and complete sewer services with low pressure individual lift stations for 13 homes. Construct community-wide low pressure sewer system. Complete community drainfield that will serve the entire communityand a duplex lift station.
Project Description: This project will complete construction initiated under Project Nos. AN 03-R54 and AN 04-N61. Specifically, this project will install new water services and provide indoor plumbing. This project will also construct a community-wide low pressure sewer system. This project will also complete the community drainfield that will serve the entire community and complete the duplex lift station and all facilities.
Infrastructure Description: The purpose and rationale of this water/waste water project relates directly to the intent and purpose of the Recovery Act by creating and saving jobs in urban and rural Alaska while helping to spur economic activity and investment towards the long term sustainability of our communities.
