Award Description: To provide subsidized, part-time, community service work-based training for low-income persons age 55 or older who have poor employment prospects. It is intended that these community service experiences serve as a bridge to other employment positions not supported with Federal funds.Community Service Employment program, commonly called the Senior Employment program (SCSEP), provides training for employment through part time work in community service organizations for low income unemployed older workers age 55 and over who have significant barriers to employment ( e.g. diabilities, poor work history, low skills).
Project Description: Provision of subsidized, part-time, community service work-based training for low-income persons age 55 or older. Sixty two individuals have been enrolled in the Senior Employment Program and are receiving work experience and training in unsubsidized employment.
