Award Description: HPRP provides financial assistance and services to prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless and help those who are experienceing homelessness to be quickly rehoused and stabilized.
Project Description: Phase I compeleted under HPRP through Request for Proposal release. HPRP Funding was awarded to sub-recipient PROCEED, Inc. and Central Jersey Legal Services. PROCEED, Inc. was awarded to provide financial assistance, housing relocation & stabilization servcies, data collection, and administration, in the amount of $2,010,114. Central Jersey Legal Servcies was awarded $29,250 for legal representation. The remainder of data collection ($43,391)/administration ($43,391) funds will be retained by UC to do these activities. The subcontracts with PROCEED, Inc. and Central Jersey Legal Services was executed by 9/30/09, and services will begin on 10/1/09. Plans are being developed to coordinate the use of other ARRA funds, existing funding sources, and local organizations (ie. Department of Labor; Department of Health & Human Services; Community Servcies Block Grant; Social Services for the Homeless; Continuum of Care grants; Emergency Shelter Grant Program; County Welfare Agency; County One Stop Centers; Employment One Stop Partners; and other affiliations through Union County's Continuum of Care (HSAC/CEAS Committee).
