Award Description: The Oregon Primary Care Association (OPCA) will administer a multi-faceted SEARCH program to ensure that medical and dental students and residents have access to high quality learning experiences in safety net clinics serving vulnerable populations in urban and rural areas, ultimately increasing the recruitment and retention of primary care providers in Oregon who work with underserved populations. OPCA is uniquely positioned to meet our ambitious goals in Oregon, bringing a 25 year history of serving the state’s community health centers as the Primary Care Association, including 8 years as a SEARCH contractor. Among many others, OPCA will work in partnership with our state Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Oregon’s Primary Care Office (PCO), and Oregon’s Office of Rural Health (ORH) to promote and implement this enhanced program.
