Award Description: Assist in operating statewide comprehensive, coordinated, effective, efficient, and accountable program of vocational rehabilitation, which are an integral part of a statewide workforce investment system; and designed to assess, plan, develop, and provide vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with disabiities, consistent with their strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice, so that such individuals may prepare and engage in gainful employment.
Project Description: Assist in operating statewide comprehensive, coordinated, effective, efficient, and accountable program of vocational rehabilitation which are an integral part of a statewide workforce investment system; and designed to assess, plan, develop, and provide vocational rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities, consistent with their strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice so that such individuals may prepare and engage in gainful employment. For the first quarter ARRA reporting, Idaho Vocational Rehabilitation has focused on two projects. The first is with the underserved population of eligible homeless increasing in number due to the recession. The second project called 'DocFinity' when finished will move our agency to a paperless case managmenet system increasing overall efficiency.
Jobs Summary: Seven clients placed in jobs that would not be filled without the additional stimulus support to the employer. One half time Epilepsy outreach worker for Northern Idaho. A three quarter time Epilepsy outreach worker for Eastern Idaho. One full time Executive Director and two additional part time positions saved at Epilepsy Foundation. (Total jobs reported: 6)
