Award Description: A state program to provide independent living services to older individuals who are blind, conduct activities that will improve or expand such services and help improve public understanding of the problems of such individuals.

Project Description: A Senior Retreat was held, whereby 14 newly blind seniors spent five days at Oral Hull in Sandy to learn how to use a cane, mobility techniques, adaptive technology and gain confidence in adapting to blindness. Also, training was provided on a regular basis by agency staff to older individuals who are blind that helped them conduct independent living activities.
