Award Description: NH Vocational Rehabilitation will (1) create more efficient and effective ways of increasing independent living services to students with disabilities transitioning from school to employment; (2) enhance Part B transportation services to provide training to individuals with disabilities living in areas which have access to municiple transportation systems on the utilization of those services; (3) design and implement a low cost model that can be replicable when ARRA funding ceases which would assist individuals with disabilities living in nursing homes who so choose to transition to their community; (4) create a General Eduational Development preparation program, written language skills, math skills and/or computer classes for non-English speakers with significant disabilities, or indivduals with acquired brain injury, sensory impairment, and/or cognitive challenges; (5) expand information and referral to address needs of individuals with disabilities who have been laid off and who may need assistance replacing services or assistive technology previously provided by an employer; (6) create a life coaching program for individuals with significant disabiliies who are looking to explore futher avenues to increase their ability to live independently in their community; and (7) enhance capacity to provide Part B, related services to individuals with acquired brain injury and/or cognitive disabilities.
