Award Description: IDS ARRA-Increase Services to Health Centers The IDS project will expand services and increase health center staffing by providing outpatient psychiatric services through both the Integrated Primary Care (IPC) and the (county designated) Behavioral Health programs at CVCH. The model of services we are proposing will include: 1. Accurate diagnosis and initial psychotropic treatment to achieve stabilization; 2. Consultation to Primary Care Physicians (PCP?s), including care of long term patients and; 3. Ongoing psychiatric services for complex, multi-needs patients.Health Centers
Project Description: IDS Project progress this quarter: Based on the difficulty experienced in recruiting a psychiatrist as reported in the previous HCQR report we have: 1. Re-evaluated the original program design and made a decision to pursue tele-psychiatry with reduced hours overall and re-purpose remaining funds to assist in covering needs in medical via Locum Tenems. 2. Increase contracted psychiatry hours with Dr. Julie Janssen within the tele-psychiatry model. 3. Researched and chose video conferencing equipment from Cisco.
