Award Description: The purpose of this award is to expand access to needed primary health care services for an underserved population. Funds were to be used to create a Same-Day Clinic. However, additional ARRA funds awarded toward that project have not been released. In the meantime, we have hired staff and are providing services out of our largest primary medical care site. We will open the Same Day Clinic as planned after the funds awarded have been released. This project will create jobs and serve additional patients. Our goal is to hire 6.0 FTEs. We have already exceeded our goal of serving an additional 150 patients in the first year. We have served 2,381 new patients, including 677 new uninsured patients.
Project Description: We retained a pediatrician. We hired a physician assistant, a nurse, a medical assistant, a receptionist and a practice manager. Their cumulative level of effort on this project for the first two quarters is 2.10 FTE. We have served 2,381 new patients including 677 new uninsured patients.
