Award Description: Kaniksu Health Services is utilizing IDS grant funding to expand new patient accessibility with in the Boundary and Bonner County area. Kaniksu Health Services has restored and expanded our staff and service hours to accommodate a diverse demographic patient population. In the first and second quarters KHS has restored hours and added provider capacity. Our goals are to continue serving new patients specifically under insured and uninsured. KHS staffing has included 1.8 FTE medical providers, 1.8 support staff, 1.0 administrative staff, and restored 1.6 administrative staff.
Project Description: Kaniksu Heath Services started restoring individuals to previous levels of employment and added the medical and support staff positions. KHS is stll in the implementaion process and has started seeing progress toward serving more under-insured and uninsured patients in the service area. during the quarter 200 new patients have been seen, of which 62 were uninsured. KHS's plan is to see the number of both grow throughout the duration of the project.
