Award Description: ARRA Supplemental Fundig for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program: provide a wide range of innovative employment-related services and activities tailored to the specific needs of their community; use funds in a manner that meets the shor-tem economic and employment needs of individuals, families and communities; and make meaningful and measurable progress toward the reform goals of the Recovery Act with special attention to creating and sustaining economic growth and employment opportunites.
Project Description: Community Services Block Grant/ARRA funds will be used to provide services and activities designed to have a measurable reduction on poverty-related conditions and pormote the development of social and economic self-sufficiency amoung low-income individuals, particulary families who are attempting to transition from poverty. Eligible entities will use the funds to support innovative community and neighborhood-based inititatives wich promote nutrition, housing, health services, and employment-related services and activites to include job creation and sustainability. Eligible entities use funds to provide services and activities addressing employment, education, use of available income, housing, nutriiton, emergency services and/or health ot combat the central causes of poverty.
